The Evocative Ministry of Jesus
Luke 20:1-19, NASB
The text before us this morning demonstrates the ministry of Jesus to evoke intense hostility. On the heels of Jesus cleansing the temple, a delegation of chief priests, scribes, and elders question the authority of Jesus to act in such a way. The Lords reply evokes in this group an extreme aggression.
Two Key Emphases:
1. Jesus Authority Questioned (v. 1-8).
2. A Parable Jesus Directs at His Opponents (v. 9-19).
