BELIEFS

OUR PRIMARY GOAL, OBJECTIVE, & MISSION:

Our chief goal and objective as a church is to glorify God (Rev. 5:13; Rev. 19:7) and make disciples as commissioned to the church by the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19-20). Our mission is to make Christ known by proclamation and living of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Further, our aim is also to impact people with the truth and teaching of God’s Word.

GIVE    - of time, resources, talents, skills, experiences

PRAY   - nothing of great Kingdom value will be accomplished apart from the intercessory work of Christ through His people

INVITE  - friends, relatives, associates, neighbors, kids.

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE FELLOWSHIP
(SUNDAY SCHOOL):

  • The ministry arm of our church is centered and organized around Sunday morning small groups (i.e, Sunday School or Bible Fellowship).
  • We want all who attend Field Street to be connected to a Sunday morning small group.
  • We have Bible Fellowship Groups for all ages and stages of life.
  • Our Bible Study ministry meets each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m.

FSBC Core Values:

SCRIPTURE (2 Timothy 3:16)

We affirm the full inspiration, inerrancy, and infallibility of Scripture. We affirm that the Word of God is the supreme authority for the church and the life of every believer. We acknowledge that the Scripture is sufficient and effective for all matters of life and godliness, including equipping the saints for spiritual growth and ministry.

CHRIST (John 3:16; 14:6)

We affirm that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God and the Savior of those who repent of sin and place their faith in Him for salvation.

SUPREMACY of GOD (Isaiah 6)

  • We affirm a high view of God in proclaiming a God-exalting theology, God-centered worldview, and a God-glorifying approach to life and ministry.

PRAYER (Matthew 21:13)

We affirm and value the corporate and individual nature of prayer.

BIBLE TEACHING (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Tim. 4:2)

We affirm and value teaching people the Bible through Sunday School/Bible Fellowship and Spirit-anointed, text-driven preaching.

GOD-GLORIFYING WORSHIP (Psalm 98:4-6)

We strive to cultivate a God-centered worship experience, which produces reverence of God and great joy.

MINISTRY & SERVICE (1 Cor. 12:7)

We encourage the development of passion, experience, skills, talents, and spiritual gifts of all believers for the building up of the church and bringing glory to God.

EXEMPLARY COMMITMENT (Hebrews 10:25; 1 Peter 4:10; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10; John 1:40-42)

We stress the commitment of members to attend, serve, give, pray, and invite.

EVANGELISM/DISCIPLESHIP (Matthew 28:19-20)

We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and call for a decisive break from sin and a full surrender to the lordship of Jesus Christ, inevitably leading to a transformed life. We encourage all who follow Christ to follow Him in evident, lifestyle discipleship. We affirm that our salvation and biblically informed theology should impact how we live.
